Time value of money
Enter any four of N, I/Y, PV, PMT, FV, then press CPT and the fifth key. Money you receive is positive, money you pay is negative. Set payments per year with 2ND then I/Y.
200,000 loan, 6% / yr, 30 yr monthly:
360 N 6 I/Y 200000 PV 0 FV CPT PMT
→ −1,199.10 per month
Interest conversion 2ND 2
Convert between a nominal annual rate and the effective annual rate. Enter two of NOM, C/Y, EFF, move with the arrows, then CPT the one you want.
6 ENTER (NOM) ↓ 12 ENTER (C/Y) ↓ CPT (EFF)
→ 6.17
Amortization 2ND PV
Set up a time value problem and compute the payment. Then open amortization, enter the first and last payment numbers in P1 and P2, and read the balance, principal, and interest.
1 ENTER (P1) ↓ 1 ENTER (P2) ↓ BAL ↓ PRN ↓ INT
Breakeven 2ND 6
Enter four of fixed cost, variable cost per unit, price per unit, profit, and quantity, then CPT the fifth. Leave profit at 0 to find the breakeven quantity.
4000 ENTER (FC) ↓ 15 ENTER (VC) ↓ 35 ENTER (P) ↓ 0 ENTER (PFT) ↓ CPT (Q)
→ 200 units
Reading stored values. Enter a number then press a key like N or PMT to store it; the screen shows N= or PMT= with the value. Press the key again, or RCL then the key, to read it back. In a worksheet, press ENTER to store, and the = appears once stored. Changing P/Y sets C/Y to match.
Deleting a digit. The → key deletes the rightmost digit, on what you are typing or on a value already shown. The keyboard Backspace and → keys do the same.
Exiting a worksheet. CE|C exits (double press if you are mid entry), 2ND then CE|C clears the worksheet and exits, and 2ND then CPT (QUIT) exits.
Not wired up yet. CF, NPV, IRR and the statistics and trig keys are shown in their real places so the layout matches the device, but are not active in this version. Pressing one shows a short note on the screen.
Keyboard. Number and math keys work directly, Enter is ENTER, s is 2ND, the up and down arrows move within a worksheet, and Esc clears.
